One Common Unity (OCU) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization charged with the mission of breaking cycles of violence and building compassionate, healthy communities through the transformative power of music, arts, and peace education.
Since the year 2000, One Common Unity (a non-profit organization) has successfully created spaces to transform the lives of youth and families. Through arts-based peace education in schools, summer youth initiatives, and through festivals and concerts, we have created spaces for people to tell their stories and share them with others. We believe much of violence is a learned behavior, and therefore, if someone can be taught violence, they can also be taught compassion, cooperation, and the skills necessary to create healthy and thriving communities.
